The results of a traumatic brain injury are pervasive, affecting not only the person with the injury, but family, friends and the individual's community. Ann Arbor Rehabilitation Centers, Inc. is a community based service provider providing varied levels of structure, support and services promoting maximum independence. We treat each individual with dignity and respect and create individualized programs that are tailored to meet our patient's needs while accommodating the 'real world' demands of work, family and school responsibilities. We encourage family and friends' participation in the therapeutic process. Ann Arbor Rehabilitation Centers, Inc. believes in and practices Person Centered Care and strives in helping people achieve their goals and realize their dreams.

We maintain an open door policy where suggestions, ideas and requests are encouraged. We believe that honest communication creates synergistic and effective therapeutic environment. Supported Living Program

AARC provides a Supported Living Program within a Prosthetic Supportive Environment (PSE) which is individually tailored to the person served. Participants develop independent living skills in order to return to the community and resume a productive life. Services are available on campus as well as within the community. Participants do not require 24 hour supervision.

An interdisciplinary approach is used to build skills and develop problem solving abilities. Outcome-based treatment planning is used to guide participants toward goal attainment and maximum independence.

Participants are encouraged to be actively involved in the community. We promote involvement in meaningful activities, development of social relationships, improving 'quality of life' and emphasizing personal responsibility as part of increasing independent functioning.

Hours of service are flexible, with scheduling up to seven days a week as needed. Twenty four hour On-Call contact is available.

Neuropsychological Evaluation

Neuropsychological evaluations provide an in-depth perspective on the brain--behavior functioning of the individual. Neuropsychological assessments are used to design and develop the person's functional rehabilitation program. These assessments identify realistic goals that can be targeted to improve skills and increase independence.

Clients at Ann Arbor Rehabilitation Centers, Inc. receive the appropriate battery of neuropsychological assessments from our experienced staff. A full evaluation with recommendations is provided to the client and family and a written evaluation is sent to their physician.
